However, Hamilton is refusing to let it get to him as he reckons had it not been for the accident he would be destroyed the competition.
"This will make no difference. It hasn't knocked me confidence-wise, I'm not gutted or disappointed," he said.
"It is not going to take me a day to recover or anything. I'll be up first thing training and really looking forward to Magny-Cours.
"Going forward, the mood is strong. The fact is we destroyed everyone at the weekend. With the car we have right now there is no stopping us."
I know Lewis' character is a competitive, confident and positive thinking individual. You need these characteristics to be a champion in your chosen field but you can always decide to keep your comments to yourself. It doesn't help by telling the press because they will surely twist it and the readers will form negative opinions.
It makes Lewis look arrogant. At least that was my initial impression and I know him personally. I have understood that he needs to be super confident and positive to be at the top of his game. People like him will succeed and exceed at their chosen field and it inspires me to condition my mind so I will be successful at what I do. But I still think a good dose of humility wouldn't hurt. Humility here means restraining yourself from commenting because you know your comments will be taken wrongly and that will hurt your image.
I'm not Lewis' mother so I can't tell him what to do or how to behave but I would advise him to tone down his comments or better still just keep quiet and get on with the job.

Lewis is frequently misquoted - unless I actually see the words coming out of his mouth, I won't believe it. The other thing is that Lewis has a microphone constantly shoved under his nose so has to make a comment, whereas the other drivers don't. He is coming in for some unfair criticism over this - it's as if no other driver EVER made a mistake. For someone who knows him, you should be more supportive. I don't see him as arrogant at all, and you shouldn't believe everything you read in the papers or on the internet.
Why don't you look at this argument - at least this person is looking at all the facts. I can't understand why everyone is going on about Lewis's mistake when other drivers make similar ones. It just seems so unfair.

Hi Grenada,
Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving comments. You are commenter number 2. And it's great to get in touch with fans of racing as well.
I try to be as supportive as possible but I'm a person who cares, that's why I have to voice out if Lewis is doing wrong. If I don't care, why should I bother right?
I'm trying to point out that Lewis is not perfect and I'm not a fanatic fan who can see no wrong with Lewis. I believe in giving credit where credit is due. If Lewis makes a mistake, he has to pay the price. I wish I could help him to avoid that price but he has his own path to follow.
I agree with you that there are a lot of unfair criticism about him and I can tell you that most of them are wrong as these people don't know enough of him to comment as they do. But some criticisms are valid and I wished Lewis would realise that.
I know that he has a mic following him everywhere but he has the power to decide his response..or not. To tell you the truth, he was different last year. I know that his status has changed and he has changed but I hope that his father keeps him on the right track. I do what I can. I hope that my blog will make people see that Lewis is one of those people with the qualities of a winner. A winner has to have self confidence and make a choice to ignore what the world thinks in order to focus on his target.
Sometimes, well maybe almost all the time, it makes them seem arrogant. Only those who know them know the truth. I don't want this blog to be an altar to Lewis Hamilton. It is a supporter blog with reason.
I don't believe everything I read on the net because I have seen what the media can do. What I know of Lewis and what the media reports is different. Lewis knows that. That's why sometimes I get pissed off when the media sets a trap for him and goes for it hook, line and sinker.
I agree with you on that incident with Kimi. I hate double standards. read my latest post and the others about that incident.
Keep in touch. I'm on facebook.
